Gusto
AvailableImport team, comp, and departments into Merkava HR.
How Gusto composes with Merkava.
- Source of truth for people. Gusto owns the roster. Merkava HR pulls the current org shape — no manual duplication.
- Comp and cost visibility. Salary and benefit cost flow into Centerline for burn and unit-economics rollups. Aggregated, never row-level leaked.
- Onboarding handoff. New hire in Gusto → pre-filled candidate-to-employee conversion in Merkava HR.
Connect in two clicks.
- Sign in to Merkava. Go to
Settings → Integrationsinside Merkava. - Authorize Gusto. Standard OAuth — Merkava never sees your password.
- Pick what syncs. Defaults are sensible; override any time.
Gusto integration — questions, plainly answered.
Does the Gusto integration cost anything extra?
Free with any Merkava plan. Gusto's own subscription applies separately. The integration itself ships free with Merkava; you don't pay per event, per record, or per sync.
Which Merkava plugins use Gusto?
Operations (Crew, Onramp, Gauge). The integration is shared across these plugins — connect Gusto once and any plugin that needs payroll + HR data has it.
How does authorization work?
OAuth 2.0 via Gusto's embedded payroll API; scoped to a single Gusto company. Merkava never sees your password — you authorize through Gusto's standard auth flow and revoke access from your Gusto account at any time.
What Gusto permissions does Merkava request?
employees:read, compensation:read, payroll:read (write requires manual approval per pay period). We request the minimum scopes needed for the use case; nothing broader than what's required to sync employee records, comp data, and headcount into Merkava's HR plugin (Crew); surface payroll-cost line items for the Finance plugin. Operators see and approve the exact scope list at install.
Is the integration two-way?
Mostly inbound. Merkava reads employee + payroll data. Outbound write actions (e.g., onboarding a new hire from Onramp into Gusto) require explicit operator approval per action.
Does this work with Gusto's free tier?
No — Gusto requires a paid subscription (Simple, Plus, or Premier). The integration works with all paid tiers.
Can I disconnect at any time?
Yes. Settings → Integrations → Gusto → Disconnect in Merkava, or revoke the authorization from your Gusto account directly. Disconnect stops sync immediately. Data already pulled into Merkava remains in your tenant; you can purge it from Settings → Data → Purge Integration Data if you also want it cleared.
What happens to my Gusto data if I cancel Merkava?
Your Gusto data stays where it is — Merkava only stores a synced copy for the plugins that need it. Cancellation lets you export your tenant's data (Settings → Data Export) and the synced copy is deleted at the end of your billing period. The original Gusto account is unaffected.
