Beacon
SEO + GEO command center, built in. Beacon audits your site for technical SEO and generative-engine visibility, ranks the fixes by revenue impact, and commits the fix to your code repo as a pull request. You review the PR; Beacon handles the diff. Audits that turn into shipped commits, not PDFs that sit in a Drive folder.
Classic SEO plus the AI-answer layer.
- Technical audit on schedule. Core Web Vitals, crawl health, schema coverage, broken links, redirect chains, duplicate tags. Daily; alerts on regressions.
- GEO coverage. Will your content show up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google's AI Overviews? Beacon probes each engine on your target prompts, tracks citation share over time, and surfaces which competitors are getting cited where you aren't.
- Fix → commit. For the fixes Beacon can ship (meta tags, schema, redirects, internal links, image alt), it opens a PR against your repo with the diff, a rationale, and a preview link.
- Competitor SERP map. Who else ranks for your target queries, what pages they rank with, what changed last week.
- Revenue-weighted prioritization. Each fix is scored by estimated revenue impact, not generic "severity". You ship the fixes that matter; ignore the ones that don't.
Audit. Propose. Commit.
Connect the site and the repo.
Domain verification, Google Search Console scope, GitHub app install. Beacon starts crawling the moment the scopes land.
Review the queue.
Fixes ranked by estimated impact. Each item shows the current state, the proposed change, and the rationale with sources.
Merge the PR.
Approve → Beacon opens the PR → preview deploys → you merge. The audit item closes automatically when the fix is live and re-verified.
The fix queue.
Composite of the Beacon fix queue. Built-in to Merkava Core today.
The visibility hub.
Will it show up in ChatGPT? Plainly answered.
Will my content show up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini?
That's exactly what Beacon measures. It probes each engine on your target prompts, reports citation share, and surfaces what's missing from your content that's keeping it out of the answers. Then it ships the fixes — schema, entities, FAQ structure — that AI answer engines actually cite.
How is GEO different from SEO?
SEO optimizes for Google's blue-link ranking. GEO — Generative Engine Optimization — is making your content visible in AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overviews). They overlap on schema.org and on-page entity clarity but differ on what's actually measured. Beacon does both at the same time so you don't trade one for the other.
Will optimizing for AI search hurt my Google ranking?
No. The on-page changes Beacon ships — clean schema, complete FAQ blocks, semantic entity structure — make content easier for both Google's blue-link crawler AND AI answer engines to parse. The two goals reinforce each other; they don't trade off.
How long until I see citations in AI answers?
Citation timelines vary by engine. ChatGPT and Perplexity tend to refresh fastest (days to a couple of weeks for new content); Google AI Overviews lags more (several weeks). Beacon tracks the citation rate per engine over time so you see the curve, not just a point.
How does Beacon compare to Surfer or Clearscope?
Surfer and Clearscope optimize the article you're writing right now against Google's SERP — strong inside the article boundary, classic SEO only. Beacon does the same content scoring AND the GEO layer (AI-answer-presence probe across ChatGPT/Perplexity/Gemini), AND ships the fix as a PR to your repo. One tool, both eras, end-to-end.
Does Beacon support sites I don't own (e.g. agency clients)?
Yes. Beacon scopes per-venture; install once per client venture inside your Merkava workspace, run the audit, ship PRs to that client's repo. Operators run Beacon across 5–20 venture-scoped sites from one workspace.
Can I run Beacon without giving you my GitHub repo?
You can run audit-only mode (no repo connect; Beacon surfaces fixes but doesn't open PRs). The fix → commit loop requires GitHub install. Repo scope is read + write to a working branch only — Beacon never force-pushes, never touches main directly.
