Why we offer it.
Honest reasons, in order: (1) the network compounds — each site that links back is a search-engine signal that Merkava ships real product, (2) ventures that ship publicly are ventures we want to celebrate, (3) the badge is also a quiet credibility check — visitors who recognize it know they're looking at something real.

Is the Built-with-Merkava badge free?
Yes. Free for any site, customer or not. The HTML embed, the markdown variant, the SVG asset — all free. There's no license tier, no premium variant, no removal fee. Drop it in your footer and you're done.
Do I need to be a paying Merkava customer to use the badge?
No. The badge is open to anyone — including sites built without Merkava. We don't gate it. That said, displaying the badge on a site where Merkava didn't actually do the work is on you, not us; the badge is meant to credit work the AI executive team shipped, not to claim affiliation that doesn't exist.
What does the badge link to?
It links back to https://withmerkava.com/?ref=badge — same anchor across all three variants (light, dark, compact-exec-attributed). The ref parameter lets us count badge-driven traffic without tracking individual visitors.
Will displaying the badge slow my site down?
No. The badge is a self-contained inline SVG with a hyperlink — no script tag, no external request, no font load, no tracker. Copy-paste the HTML and it adds under 2KB to the page. Cached after the first paint.
Can I change the badge text or styling?
Light styling adjustments — color, scale, padding — are fine and expected. Don't change the wordmark, the URL, or the "Built with Merkava" phrasing; those keep the badge consistent across the network. Three official variants are provided so most use cases (light theme, dark theme, exec-attributed) are covered without edits.
Where should I put the badge?
Most common: the footer, alongside copyright. Other common spots: About/Team page, README on the repo, an HTML comment near <body> for developers who inspect-element. The badge is small enough that footer placement is unobtrusive and earns the SEO/GEO signal we both benefit from.
Does Merkava get any tracking data when the badge loads?
Only what any link gets — referrer header on click-through, plus the ?ref=badge query string we use to count traffic. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no third-party script. The badge is static HTML; visitors loading your page send no data to us until they actually click through to withmerkava.com.
